The unlocked my phone but unfortunately, I didn’t know what was the problem at the first I have paid $24.99 at the first I thought so does the payment that I need to pay for unlocking my phone one hour later I have received an email that I need to pay $54 again. They told me $24.99 was for checking all eligibility for unlocking and this $54 is unlocking fees. It was real tough for me.

4 months without a resolution!
I paid the initial fee for eligiblity (My phone was eligible) and then the 2nd payment for the unlocking fee on October 10th 2024. The status of my unlocking has been at 99% for nearly 4 months now and I am always the one initiating contact for a status. Directunlocks.com will respond with they are exhausting all efforts and if they are unable to unlock my phone, they will refund my money. However, when is it determined that all efforts are exhausted? Who makes that decision? I've received no answers or updates at this point. It really seems like they just drag this process out so you give up and they keep your money.
Do not use this company for unlocking services! SCAM!!!!

Hi Anton, I'm really sorry for your frustration. I can see your unlock is at 99% and should be completed imminently. Our technical team is working hard on your Galaxy Z Flip4, and if they determine that all unlocking attempts have been exhausted, they'll reach out to you with the next steps as outlined in our policy. We appreciate your patience—please hang in there a little longer, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions.

It is really disingenuous; they ask for a medium pricetag first (26 euro), they don't unlock it for you then. No, for that you will have to pay another 44 euro. Thats 70 euro for an unlock, and even the unlock is not guaranteed. The reason they don't tell you this beforehand is because most people wont pay 70 euro. But if they can pocket 26 euro here and another there thats excellent profit.

Hi there – thanks for sharing your feedback. I understand the process can seem a bit segmented. Just to clarify, we detail all charges on the checkout page beforehand. The initial payment is for the Eligibility Check, which lets us verify your device's details (and this cost isn’t refundable), and if everything's in order, you then pay the unlocking fee. We always aim to be transparent about the fees, even though the service isn’t 100% guaranteed, and the steps are designed to give you the best unlocking possibility. I truly appreciate your comments and hope this clears things up.

I received a message saying that I owed money on my phone but they negotiated with T mobile and got the price of my phone to $292 I paid it. They sent it to T mobile for a minute then supposedly sent it to Apple because it wouldn’t work at T mobile. I called T mobile and they told me that they would never negotiate the price down and that I only owed $138 on the phone that I still have to pay for. When I asked them about this they said that they would never negotiate with the carrier. Obviously that is true I want to know why I was lied to and it cost $371 by the time it was over. Read other reviews it talks about their negotiations with carriers also. I think if I don’t get a full refund I will have to take all of the screenshots that I have to the Attorney General’s Office. There is a lot of fraud going on here

Hi James, I’m sorry to hear about the confusion here. Our service is only focused on unlocking your device—the fees you paid ($24.99 for the Eligibility Check, $54 for Standard Unlock, and $292 for Premium Service) were clearly outlined on our checkout page. Our records show your iPhone 15 Pro is now unlocked, and we don’t negotiate or alter any phone balances with carriers. It sounds like the issue with your remaining balance is between you and T-Mobile/Apple. I’d recommend contacting them directly to clear up any financing confusion. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help with regarding our unlocking service.
Scammers Paid the initial £11 for the checks. Then was told I needed to pay an aditional fee of £39. Then next day I get told the phone doesn't meet network unlocking criteria. And ive losy my £50 no refunds. Avoid absolute scammers

Hi there – I'm sorry to hear you’ve been disappointed. Our checkout page clearly states that all orders include a non-refundable eligibility check fee (in your case, £11) plus an unlocking fee if your phone qualifies (the additional £39). This two-stage process is in place to avoid unexpected costs later, and all fees are outlined before purchase.
I really want to help sort this out. Could you please pop your IMEI into our Live Support on your tracking page so we can look into your order details together? Thanks for your understanding.

Started at $25 for instant unlock then after that another $106 and had to wait 3 days. So I wasted $130 and unlocked phone thru att same day. Misleading

Hi Kurt Dupuis, I understand your frustration. Just to clarify, every phone goes through an Eligibility Check (which is why you were charged $24.99) before the unlocking payment of $106 is processed – these steps and their costs are clearly outlined on the checkout page. I’m glad to see your order is now marked as "Unlock Complete" with the correct codes provided for your Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G. We appreciate your feedback and will work on making the process clearer in the future.
Scam scam scam!
Requested a refund, been over a month with no phone unlocked.

This was a total scam. They run your card for $24.99 first and then tell you that your phone is eligible for a an unlock and request $54.99 more. My bank will give me my money back so no loss on my part but this was definitely a scam watch out.

Hi there, I'm really sorry you feel that way. Our process is a bit more involved than just a carrier request—it includes a mandatory Eligibility Check and then an Unlocking Payment to source the official unlocking solution. All steps and costs are clearly outlined before purchase to keep you fully informed. If you'd like more details or need help with your order, please chat with our Live Support on your tracking page (and don’t forget to have your IMEI handy). We're here to help clear things up.

Hello Benjamin,
I’m really sorry to hear about your frustrations! I completely understand how disappointing it can be to encounter issues while trying to unlock your iPhone 14 Pro Max.
I can see that your order status indicates it "doesn't meet network unlocking criteria." Unfortunately, this means we cannot proceed with the unlock at this time. All costs, including the $28.99 for the eligibility check and £28.00 for the unlocking, are outlined during checkout, and these payments are non-refundable as the eligibility check service has been performed.
We value your trust and are committed to helping you! If you can meet the unlocking criteria in the future, don’t hesitate to resubmit your request. We're here to support you through this process!
Thank you for your patience, and please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Best,
Charlotte

Direct unlocks is a scam, they would give you 7 days to wait for the codes and you won't get any codes. worse enough there are no any refunds for payments.

Hi Frank, I’m really sorry about your concerns. I can assure you your unlock is already 2% complete and should be finished within about 6 days, 19 hours. The two payments you made – one for the Eligibility Check and one for the Standard Unlock – are clearly outlined on our checkout page. I understand it can be frustrating waiting, but our process ensures everything is in order for unlocking your device. Thanks for your patience, and I’m here if you need any more help!

Been waiting for 5 weeks for a code that should have taken a couple of days.
All replies to contact are by IA and not real persons. And all positive comments left are manipulated probably by bots.
After payment they will not refund at all.

Dear DirectUnlocks Team,
I am writing to report duplicate charges made by your unlocking service. After completing my purchase, I noticed I was charged twice for two different amounts.
The details are as follows:
Two charges of $28.90
Two charges of $50.00
Date of transaction: [08/01/2025]
I checked your website for a way to contact support but couldn’t find any direct method. I kindly request an immediate resolution to this issue and a refund for the duplicate charges.
If necessary, I can provide proof of the charges. I look forward to your urgent response so we can resolve this matter quickly.
Sincerely,
[eduardo]

. My concern is that I was charged twice for both amounts.
Here are the charges that appeared on my account:
• Two charges of $28.90
• Two charges of $50.00
This means I was billed for the same amounts twice, which is incorrect. Could you please check my account again and confirm these duplicate charges? I can provide screenshots or transaction details if needed.
Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to resolving this quickly.
Best regards,
Eduardo

Hi Eduardo,
Thanks for reaching out to us about the duplicate charges. I understand that this can be quite frustrating! However, I’d like to clarify that all costs are outlined clearly on the checkout page before you complete your purchase, which includes the fees for your eligibility check and unlocking.
If you have any concerns about your order, could you please provide your IMEI number? This will help us look into your account in detail. In the meantime, if your status indicates that payments are still required, please continue with the unlocking process, and we'll do our best to assist you!
Feel free to use our Live Support through the tracking page for any immediate help.
Looking forward to resolving this with you!
Best,

Update - Their first icon says “Unlock for Any carrier” when asking for 24.99. Not cleat at all
Deceptive business practice- They show eligibility check fee of $24 on top of their website as if it’s unlocking fee hiding “additional fees apply” in smaller fonts towards the bottom. MANY folks (including myself) were tricked into this and now Im forced to either pay $50+ or wasted $24

Hello Han Jang,
I understand your frustration regarding the additional fees. I want to clarify that the eligibility check fee of $24.99 was clearly outlined as the first step in the unlocking process, and all costs, including the subsequent unlocking payment, are shown on the checkout page before purchase.
Currently, you're on the right path; since your order status shows that you’ve completed the Eligibility Check, the next step is to proceed with the Unlocking Payment. This ensures that we can complete the unlock for your iPhone 15 from Boost USA.
Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to assist you further in completing your unlock!
Best,
Charlotte

Lovely little scam going. 11.99, then £26 to get it unlocked, paid that, then they requested another £40 because it can't be unlocked by the network provider (vodafone). After the second request for money to go direct to the manufacturer to get it unlocked i spoke to Vodafone. They said if the phone was on a contract with them they would give me the code for free, which they did. Phone unlocked by Vodafone for free.
Still getting emails saying it needs another £40 from me and it's saying it's stuck at 99%.
The chat function provided is obviously bs ai that is no help whatsoever. I have asked for a refund of the £26 as they haven't provided the service I have paid for, and all I get as a respond is 'wait a little longer it's almost done' been three weeks of bullshit before I wrote this review.
Not happy
In a nutshell, if the phone was on contract speak to the network provider first, these goons will try to extort as much as possible from you for a free service

Hi there! I’m really sorry to hear about your experience and can understand your frustration. Just to clarify, all the costs involved are stated on the checkout page prior to purchase, and each unlock process involves an eligibility check followed by an unlocking payment.
It sounds like your phone requires an additional unlocking service, which is entirely normal for certain networks, particularly when dealing with locked phones. If your status is still showing as 99%, it may just need a bit more time to finalize. We recommend continuing with the process to see if we can get it unlocked for you.
If you still feel unsure about the service, please reach out through the Live Support on your tracking page. They can assist you more directly. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to improve your experience!
Misdirection with their selling. They heavily suggest they will unlock for a small amount of money and then hit you with a big bill. Yes you are going to respond saying you made clear that there was an extra charge in the small print but we all know you are misleading buyers!

Scam
First they will show you a small amount like 14 dollos or so which is Eligibility Check and when you scroll a little bit down you see full amount that you have to pay so be careful
I only paid Eligibility Check so I don't know if they really unlock the phone

Hi Nasratullah,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I understand your concern about the payment structure. When you placed your order for the unlock service, you initially paid €13.49 for the Eligibility Check, which is a necessary first step. This is outlined during the checkout process, and once that check is complete, there will be an additional Unlocking Payment required to proceed further.
Your order status currently shows that you're awaiting the Unlocking Payment. I encourage you to continue with the process, as once that payment is made, we can assist you in unlocking your iPhone XS from AT&T. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to ask—we're here to help!
Looking forward to helping you unlock your phone soon!

Sneaky and dishonest. The 'two part process's IS NOT obvious on anywhere during the process. Also, they do not let you know what currency it's in.
In my case, being in Australia, I presumed I was dealing in AUD. It was in USD. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Nowhere near transparent. Zero stars.

Hi Shauna,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear about your frustration. I understand that the process may feel unclear at first. Just to clarify, all costs, including the need for both an eligibility check and a separate unlocking payment, are outlined on the checkout page before you complete your order. This ensures that customers are aware of the total costs involved.
I also want to mention that our pricing is typically displayed in USD, which can be misunderstood when ordering from outside the US. We strive for transparency and appreciate your comments on this.
Since your order status indicates you’ve completed the eligibility check, the next step is to proceed with the unlocking payment. If you have any questions or need assistance, I’m here to help!
Best regards,
Charlotte
No ‘fine print’ outright lies!
I’ve been back and checked where I went wrong, nothing indicated that the first $25 USD payment was just a ‘check for eligibility’. Once done, they ask for an additional $55 USD. I’m so mad because I am tech savvy. I didn’t bother paying the next lot because I’m not about to get scammed further.

Hi there! I understand your frustration regarding the payment process, and I’m here to help clarify things for you.
The $25 USD payment is indeed for the Eligibility Check, which is necessary to confirm if your phone can be unlocked. After that, the $55 USD is the unlocking payment. This information is laid out on the checkout page before making a purchase.
If you're currently at the "awaiting payment" status, I encourage you to complete the process. Many customers find that once they proceed, they are satisfied with the unlocking results.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, please reach out! We're here to help you every step of the way!

Hi there,
I’m really sorry to hear about your frustrations. It sounds like the process has been much longer than anticipated, and I understand how that can be disappointing.
Just to clarify, the $24.95 charge is for the Eligibility Check which is essential to determine if your phone can be unlocked. After that, the unlocking service does require an additional payment, which is mentioned on our checkout page prior to purchase.
Sadly, unlocking timelines can vary based on network conditions, and while we aim to provide speedy services, there are factors we can't control. If you're still waiting, I encourage you to continue with your order as each step is vital in successfully unlocking your device.
If there’s anything specific you’d like assistance with, please consider reaching out via Live Support on your tracking page. We’re here to help get this resolved for you!
Thank you for your patience!
